Eversley Rangers - 1, Long Lane Lions - 9 U7's
The Lions played this game the way they've played all season, passing and moving with a smile on their face's.
We really took the game to Eversley and found ourselves 2-0 in the first 10 minutes. We carried on after the break and after the 2nd quarter the score was 4-1. The 3rd quarter the Lions found themselves in the position of being 7-1 in front and in the last period we added 2 more goals to see the final score being 9-1!!
This was the sort of game that in previous weeks we would have won by 1 or 2 goals, but today everything clicked: the passing and movement was fantastic through the whole team, our forwards were on fire, Jack hit 5, but if it wasn't for the post and keeper he could have hit double figures!! Fraser got 2 goals, one of these he ran all the way from the half way line and buried the ball. Marcelo and George both got 1 each, both of these were great finishes.
Our midfield was superb the Rangers didn't have an answer to their passing and speed. Our keeper, as per usual, made some great saves and kept focussed. As he was not involved in the game for long periods of time he deserves a lot of credit.
Our 2 defenders were superb, Akai takled everything that moved he was awsome! Lewis stayed in his position all game, you need rocks like this at the back to build the foundations and allow the others to work their magic. When we're free scoring like this it's a credit to these young boys to stay in their position and not run up field trying to join in the attack and score, excellent work boys.
Each week these boys impress us and long may that continue.
