Girls Win Trophy for the Second Year!

What a great tour and what a fabulous final, I'm still buzzing, the girls were absolutely sensational in winning the Great Yarmouth Soccer Classic for the second year running!

U12 Girls - Great Yarmouth Tour Winners 2012All 13 girls combined to put in brilliant performaces right throughout the tournament against good, strong opposition. What was I saying the other week about our girls being too nice and not physical enough, well that all changed with the girls adding strength and determination to the ability I always knew they had.

In goal, player of the tour, Amelia was outstanding making one vital penalty save in the semi-final and a great save to win us the trophy in the penalty shoot out. At the back Jessica W played way above herself and was a true captain. Jessica T was commanding at centre back, scoring a great goal to add to her birthday celebrations. I have not seen Maia play so well for a long time, casting off the cold and rain she was in fine form with Dad shouting out "Maia you're on fir today!"

Charly was her usual box of tricks and worked really hard in midfield coming close to scoring on a number of occasions. Rosie looks better with every game, my only problem is where to play her: up front, at the back or in midfield, she can play anywhere. Chloe was just a bundle of energy, covering every blade of grass and had an outstanding tournament. Madison is a managers dream, all she wants to do is get on and play, she has so much enthusiasm and is always looking to improve, just watch her go next season! Charlie is a player whonever lets you down, she only started this year and has come on big time!

Gabriella had a fantastic tournament sacrificing her own desire to score goals by working really hard in midfield; I thought she was outstanding, particularly in the final. Shannon chipped in with five goals and as always gave 100%, her winning penalty kick brought out the biggest smile I have ever seen. Olivia just gets better and better, some of the runs she made were first class and she is a joy to watch, always playing with a smile on her face. Lastly I thought Terrie was outstanding throughout, finally appreciating how important it is for her to play in central midfield where she dominated throughout.

As for me, well, I have never felt prouder, the comments and congratulations from other managers was fantastic. The girls were magnificent right from day one and to stand up on stage with them and watch their faces gives me memories that I will treasure forever. GIRLS, YOU WERE ALL BRILLIANT!
